Wilderness Lashing Installation


Step 1

Slide the tri-glide fitting over one end of the strap.

Insert the end of the strap through the other opening in the tri-glide fitting.

Insert the end of the strap through the D-ring that is mounted to the inside of the canoe.

Bring the strap back to the tri-glide fitting and thread it through the tri-glide as shown.

Thread the end of the strap through the other opening in the tri-glide fitting.

Pull the strap tight and adjust the tri-glide fitting so that it is about 2-3 inches from the D-ring. Allow the end of the strap to hang over about 2-3 inches past the tri-glide fitting.

On the other end of the strap, a fastex buckle will be attached. Note that the serrated bar on the fastex buckle is facing up.

Insert the strap through the opening closest to the buckle opening.

Feed the strap over the serrated bar and through the other buckle opening.


Step 10

Pull the strap tight and adjust the fastex buckle so that about 2-3 inches of strap is exposed. Adjust the overall length of the strap by sliding the end of the strap through the fastex buckle.

Complete the installation by installing the other straps, making sure that the mate to the fastex buckles are properly aligned with the opposing straps.
